Not only will the weight come back, but you will find that it becomes very difficult to lose any more weight at all. By eating a diet with too few calories, you have turned off your metabolism, the furnace that burns the fat. Even when you are trying to lose weight, you need to have the right amount of calories in your daily diet to ensure that you are getting the proper nutrition and that you have enough energy to get through the entire day.

Men vs. Women… vs. Protein

The debate has been going on for centuries. Are there real differences between men and women? If so, what are those differences, exactly? The genetics are certainly different. Hormones, of course, are very different. Boys and girls even grow up at different rates. These differences also mean there are different nutritional needs - in some cases, very different. There are some things that women will need more than men and vice versa. The basics are not very different, but the amounts of specific nutrients may vary by gender.

Nutritional Needs of Diabetics

It is estimated that 14 million Americans have diabetes, which is the third leading cause of death in the US. Diabetes can be a scary condition for many, because not only can it lead to other serious health conditions, it can also make existing health conditions more difficult to manage. Some of the effects of diabetes include vision problems that can lead to blindness, and it is one of the leading causes for amputation, especially in the feet and legs. People with diabetes are at a higher risk of developing such conditions as heart and kidney disease and experiencing strokes.
