Learning the way to build chest muscles is perhaps the very first thing you learned when you got in the gymnasium. I know when I started lifting in 10th grade that was the first thing that I was taught. I can still remember doing the bench press with a 10lb. Weight on all sides of the bar. It is an enormous accomplishment when I had a 25lb weight on each side. I thought that have a plate on each side meant I had arrived. Now a plate is just heat up and doing 2 per side is more of an ordinary thing.
